Besides the number of submissions the Organising Committee was asked to extend the call for papers which the Scientific Committee under the lead of Dr Michael Meyer, Research Director at the Freiberg based FILK leather institute, confirmed. The organisers are pleased to announce the extension of the call for papers until February 15, 2019.

Head of Scientific Committee

The Scientific Committee announces that so far well over 150 abstracts have been submitted from around the globe covering all kinds of topics, from fundamental collagen research to all steps of the leather manufacturing process. Since sustainable manufacturing processes and products become more important to the consumer recently, sustainability will have a high significance within the scientific programme: cleaner technologies, close loop processes, utilisation of tannery waste and residues, resource-friendly technologies and a lot more will be presented at the congress.
