Dr Luminita Albu
She is Director and 1st degree Senior researcher at the National Research and Development Institute for Textiles and Leather (INCDTP) – Division: Leather and Footwear Research Institute (ICPI), Bucharest, Romania. She graduated in 1981 the Polytechnic University of Iasi, Faculty of Chemistry and Technology of Textiles, specialisation chemist engineer in leather.
In 2005 she gained the PhD degree in the field of Material Engineering and Science at the Technical University “Gh. Asachi” of Iasi. Dr. Albu has been specialised in: leather wet finishing and top finishing products (1991); “Restructure of Scientific and Technological System - Science Management” (1996); Management of Research Project (1998; 2000); Top Management (1999 - 2000); Project Engineering (2000); Sectoral expert ITC (2005); Training courses within of the FP7 (2008); Trainer (2011); Skills evaluator (2015) and won a JSPS Fellowship at Yokohama National University, Japan (2000).
L. Albu has participated in about 84 research projects, 27 projects (EUREKA, EUROSTARS, PHARE, FP5 – IST, FP7, Leonardo da Vinci, IEE, ERASMUS+, Bilateral Cooperation) being European or international and 30 being coordinated by herself.
Dr. Albu is the co-author of more than 80 papers published in Romania and abroad and 8 technical books.
She is also co-author of 18 patents awarded with 12 medals.
Dr. Albu is member (from 1999) and President (from 2002) of INCDTP Scientific Board; Vice-president of the Administrative Board of INCDTP (from 2008), member/representing the Institute in different associations: APPBR (Secretary General), COTANCE, IULTCS, GERIC, UITIC. She was associated professor at University “Politehnica” of Bucharest (2002-2003 and 2006-2007).
Dr. Albu is the Chairperson of the Organising and Scientific Committees of the International Conference on Advanced Materials and Systems - Romania (www.icams.ro); was member of other international Scientific Committees and is the Editor of Romanian „Leather and Footwear Journal”.
