This bus tour will start with the visit of the thousand year-old city of Meißen which is famous for its medieval centre, the vineyard landscape of the Elbe valley and world famous porcelain Manufactory.
The first white porcelain was successfully produced in 1708 under the direction of Royal alchemist Johann Friedrich Böttger. In order to keep the secret, the founding of a Porcelain Manufactory at “Albrechtsburg Castle” was announced in 1710.
The present Porcelain Manufactory was built in the 19th century, and you will be guided through the museum. In the Demonstration Workshops you will be able to witness the craftsmanship that goes into making Meissen Porcelain and in the Porcelain collection you can admire unique samples of Porcelain from the beginning to the present stage.
Following this tour you will visit Moritzburg castle where you can experience porcelain in historical surroundings and as a former daily representation of power and wealth.
After the lunch at the restaurant inside the castle, your guide will show you the castle with its preciously decorated rooms, full of hunting trophies, magnificent paintings and porcelain, as well as the gorgeous leather wallpapers.

Price includes the bus tour, the guide, the entrance and guidance fees in the Porcelain Manufactory and Moritzburg Castle, the Lunch (main course and dessert, no beverages included)
All tours start at the International Congress Center (ICD). The tours will be accompanied by a qualified and experienced tour guide. All guided tours will be in English.
