Dr S Rajamani
Dr. S. Rajamani is a United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Expert in Environmental Engineering with specialization in wastewater treatment and solid waste management in World Leather Sector. He is a Doctorate in Environmental Engineering, Gold Medalist in Bachelor of Engineering Degree and First Rank holder in Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering from University of Madras. He has to his credit 120-research publications and many patents including Improved Chrome recovery and reuse system which is used universally all over the World Tanneries. He is a former Director of CSIR-CLRI, Government of India and served as the Technical Committee / Board Member for the Ph.D., programme of Anna University.
He is one of the active member and long association with the growth of IULTCS for the past 30 years. He has served as the Chairman of International Union of Environment Commission (IUE) of IULTCS for nearly 20 years and made the Environment Commission more vibrant by involving technical /scientific members from almost all the Leather producing countries in the World. He is currently serving as the Chairman of Asian International Union of Environment (AIUE) Commission covering 20 leather producing countries including China, Africa, India, Taiwan and European Union, UNIDO etc. He is a Member in many National and International bodies on Leather, Environment education, Skill Development Council and Industrial development.
Dr. S. Rajamani has served for many major environmental protection programs in USA, South America, UK, The Netherlands, France, Nepal, Sri-Lanka, Bangladesh, China, Egypt, East Africa, South Africa etc. He has got many awards and credentials including Indo-Dutch Award for Environmental Protection under Ganga River Action Plan for the biggest tannery cluster in the World, technology Award for Cleaner Production, Pollution Control etc.
